In Indore, food isn't just a meal; it's a celebration. From the early morning aroma of **Indori Poha** to the midnight hustle of **Sarafa Bazaar**, the city lives and breathes flavors. It is the only city in India where a jewelry market transforms into a gastronomic wonderland at night.

Chappan Bhog
Sarafa Bazaar
A cleaned, sanitized, and organized street food zone, **Chappan Bhog** (literally 56 offerings) is the daytime heart of Indore's food scene. This was the first food street in India to receive the "Clean Street Food Hub" tag from FSSAI.
Johny Hot Dog
Try the legendary Mutton/Egg Banjo. Winner of Asia's Best Food Award at the World Street Food Congress.
Vijay Chaat House
Famous for Batla (Peas) Kachori and Khopra Pattice (Coconut stuffed potato balls).
Shyam Sharma Sweets
The destination for refreshing "Coconut Crush" and wide variety of traditional sweets.
Legend says this night market started hundreds of years ago by jewelry shop owners who encouraged food stalls to stay late to protect their shops from burglaries through the hustle and bustle.
More than just a snack, it's a performance. **Joshi Dahi Bada House** is famous for the artist-like toss of the bada into a bowl, followed by a theatrical dusting of spices.
A local invention. Grated corn is cooked with milk and spices until it reaches a moist, grainy perfection. Try the ones at **Sanwariya Seth**.
While usually a ritual fasting food, Indori Sabudana Khichdi is a gourmet treat topped with faryali sev, chips, and a splash of lemon.
A standard Jalebi on steroids. One Jaleba can weigh up to 500 grams! Best served with thick, creamy Rabri from **Agrawal Sweets**.
Indore's favorite winter snack. Diced purple yam is deep-fried twice for crunchiness and tossed in fiery Jeeravan masala.
Finish your tour with the famous Kulfi sticks at **Ram Kishore Ice Cream**. Their dry-fruit loaded Kulfi is legendary.
Sarafa is a jewelry market in the day. The food stalls only start appearing after 9:30 PM once the shutters fall. Don't go earlier! The absolute peak vibe is between Midnight and 1:30 AM.
Indore's day starts with the world-famous combination of Poha (flattened rice) and Jalebi. What makes Indori Poha unique is the **Jeeravan Masala**, a spray of fresh pomegranate seeds, and a generous topping of crunchy **Indori Sev**.
The Secret
Jeeravan Masala is a blend of 20+ spices crafted specifically for Indore.
Terminology
Address everyone as "Bhiya" (Indori for brother). It's the universal key to friendly service.
Avoid Crowds
Chappan is best visited around 4 PM. Sarafa is magical after 11 PM on weekdays to avoid the heavy weekend rush.
The 'Faryali' Trick
If you are visiting during a fast, ask for "Faryali" items. These are cooked separately without grains/salt.
Parking Hack
Don't try to drive into Sarafa. Park at the Rajwada multi-level parking and take a short Rickshaw ride.
We curate private 'Food Walks' in Indore led by locally born foodies. Experience the city like a native.
